EVENT PAYMENT

In order to attend an event, teams must pay a $150 event registration fee (not included in the FIRST national registration fee). This payment is processed through our partners, James Madison University.

Once the payment has been received and processed, it will be reflected in your Team Manager Account. This can take up to 24 hours after the payment has been processed. In order to for a team to secure their spot in a tournament, payment must be received.

Team Funding and Payment FAQs

Our team paid, but we can’t see our payment in the team manager account. What happened?

When using the online payment system, we ask that teams wait approximately 24-48 hours before seeing the payment status reflected in the Team Manager Account. After that, please reach out to questions@va-dcfll.org to inquire about the status.

For check and purchase order payments, the payment is reflected in the Team Manager Account once the JMU University Business Office has received the payment. If you have any questions regarding the status of your payment, please reach out to questions@va-dcfll.org.

Are there any sample budgets for teams to look at?

Check out our Team Budget and Funding page. It includes a sample budget, which outlines required and optional items. Because some items only need to be purchased once, veteran teams should expect to pay less.

What types of funding opportunities are available to my team?

Teams are funded in a variety of ways. Check out our Team Funding page to find out more about the different ways in which your team can fund a FIRST® LEGO® League season. You can also check out team grant opportunities here.

My school/ organization is requesting a W9 for Virginia + DC FIRST LEGO League. How do I get one?

If you need a W-9 from FIRST®, you will need to contact them directly.
