STUDENTS/ PARENTS

GETTING STARTED!

As a parent or guardian, there are several ways you can get your child involved in a FIRST® LEGO® League program near you. Teams are structured in a variety of ways; like clubs or after-school programs that meet year-round, while others are formed by parents, community organizers, or youth groups.

There are a number of ways to find a team or locate others in your area ready to start a team. Find out more HERE. Many times the easiest way to find a team is to start a team! For other frequently asked questions from parents, check out out Parent FAQ page.

After your child has found a team, you can register your child through the FIRST® Team Dashboard. You will receive an email from your team’s lead coach inviting your child to join, from there you can register them! The short registration process will need to be done every year your child is a part of a FIRST® team.

Parents are welcomed and encouraged to get more involved in their child’s team, but it is not required. If you would like to be involved, contact your child’s coach.

*For privacy reasons, we are not able to share team contact information. VA+DC FIRST® LEGO® League does not match individual children with pre-existing teams.
